Echoes are both timeless and topical. The 100 echoes app will turn the cosmos into an interactive canvas, revealing the current location and path of your echo in spacetime, through a mash-up with Google Sky. Anyone on Earth will be able to explore your echo's target location and follow your echo as it passes through our solar system, into distant galaxies hundreds and hundreds of light years away.

The making of
an echo

It's not easy broadcasting an echo that will be audible 1800 light years away, but it's certainly possible. Your echo will be created by a synchronised array of 100 parabolic dish antennas, linked together to create the most powerful signal that has ever been sent to Deep Space. This powerful signal will then be tuned towards any point in the universe that you choose. To explore the technical details of this endeavor, please visit our tech module below.

Opening up your echo

As one of the few people who own an echo, you will leave a legacy that speaks on behalf of all humanity. But echoes aren't just for future generations, they will be followed on Earth by our generation. Many people are bound to have a unique point of view, so you may choose to open up your echo and ask people today, “What would you say?” To start a conversation that will last an eternity, use the hashtag #100_echoes.
